This position conducts research to aid the Forest Service in detecting, eradicating, rehabilitating, and understanding the effects of illicit cannabis cultivation on National Forest System lands and wildlife. Hazardous materials including high concentration pesticides are often used at these sites. To qualify, you must have one year of work experience that demonstrates the ability to document impacts of cannabis cultivation on forest ecosystems. Such impacts may include identifying and documenting hazardous materials found at cannabis sites, testing water quality in streams near cannabis sites, or testing wildlife near cannabis sites for toxicant contamination. Degree:
Successful completion of a full four year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major field of study in biological science that included:
--at least 9 semester hours in such wildlife subjects as mammalogy, ornithology, animal ecology, wildlife management, or research courses in the field of wildlife biology; and --at least 12 semester hours in zoology in such subjects as general zoology, invertebrate zoology, vertebrate zoology, comparative anatomy, physiology, genetics, ecology, cellular biology, parasitology, entomology, or research courses in such subjects (Excess courses in wildlife biology may be used to meet the zoology requirements where appropriate.); and --at least 9 semester hours in botany or the related plant sciences. --OR-- A combination of education equivalent to a major in biological science (i.e., at least 30 semester hours), with at least 9 semester hours in wildlife subjects, 12 semester hours in zoology, and 9 semester hours in botany or related plant science plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement, you must also possess specialized experience in the amount listed below. GS-13:
At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience at this level includes all of the following:
--Serving as a technical expert responsible for providing leadership in forest wildlife research studies or projects, and coordinating with other agency activities such as law enforcement, timber, recreation, and/or watershed; --Developing and implementing programs for monitoring the effects of ongoing and potential future management activities on wildlife resources to meet federal and state standards; and --Designing and implementing multi-faceted studies to evaluate the effectiveness of wildlife resource measures and providing technical advice, training, and assistance to federal, state, and/or local agencies in a multi-state area. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
