General Dentist

Come work, live, and play along the beautiful Northern California coast & Highway 101 in the heart of redwood country. This position will be based in Arcata, CA or Crescent City, CA with some travel required to other facilities.

UIHS is a tribal health program proudly serving the native population of Humboldt and Del Norte counties providing primary care and community outreach services. We serve a population of about 12,000 and provide various clinical and community health services at seven locations.

We are currently seeking a Dentist to provide professional dental care services to the American Indian clients. Dentists carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization‚ s policies and applicable laws. Additionally the Dentist assists with interviewing, hiring, and training of employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


  • Degree from an accredited dental school with a DDS or DMD degree, the school must be accredited by the American Association of Dental Education and applicants must have a valid, unrestricted license to practice dentistry in any state.

About UIHS‚

Incorporated in 1970, UIHS is a tribal owned and governed Indian Health Care Service with a main facility-Potawot-and five sites in outlying areas. In its 42-year history, it has grown from a staff of less than a dozen people to a comprehensive health care of more than 250 employees. It is governed by a Board of Directors that includes Indian community representatives from five different regions and Tribal Government representatives from each of the primary tribes and rancherias.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
